Life without Limbs.

Yesterday my best friend in Bangalore (the guy who makes me laugh all the time), Surendar, bought a new DVD player. As expected when we took it home his mom said we should play some devotional CD on it first. I know…India still lives on these beliefs. The first time he buys anything it goes on a trip to church first…be it anything at all…shirt, watch, bike anything at all.
So coming back to where I began. His mom played this extra ordinary CD which really touched me. It was a motivational speech by Nick Vujicic. A 25 year old guy born without hands and legs…There is somewhat of a leg if you may call it so!

The first part of the CD was one that shows how Nick manages his everyday activities. This would include brushing his teeth, working on the computer and even swimming!! Oh my God the video was mind blowing!

The second part of the CD is a speech by Nick where he talks about himself and his relationship with God. He talks about how he considered suicide at the age of 10 and then worked towards finding the voice of God in him. Now he has completed a Bachelor of Commerce majoring in Financial Planning and Accounting. He is also a speaker in the corporate sector. He holds motivational speeches for the handicapped and at various platforms.

Some of the things that he said really struck me. He believes God loves every one. He then debates with God that if He loves him then why did He make him like this. Nick then goes to argue that each life has a purpose. He realizes his purpose is to share his story and experiences to help others cope with whatever challenge they have in their life and let God turn it into a blessing. He wants to encourage and inspire others to live to their fullest potential and not let anything get in the way of accomplishing their hopes and dreams.

He believes there is nothing called luck, chance or coincidence. God won't let anything happen to us in our life unless He has a good purpose for it all. So if at all there is something bad happening it is for a purpose. It is just to strengthen us for more to come.

Well I have seen a lot of motivational CDs as a part of my course curriculum in college years but this was different. This was a living testimony from some one so limited yet so unlimited!!
